Yoga Under the New Moon in Aries: A Practice for Grounded New Beginnings
At our upcoming retreat, we’ll be gathering for a special yoga session guided by Mariah, held under the powerful energy of the New Moon in Aries — a time traditionally associated with fresh starts, courage, and forward movement.
This session is designed to be more than just a physical practice. It’s an opportunity to slow down, tune inward, and connect with the quiet but potent energy that the new lunar cycle brings.
Why the New Moon in Aries Matters
The New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle — a time when the sky is dark and the energy is introspective, making it a natural moment for intention-setting and reflection. Aries, as the first sign of the zodiac, carries bold and initiating energy. Together, this lunar phase and zodiac sign create a powerful invitation to begin again — consciously and with purpose.
During the retreat, we’ll be working with this energy in a grounded and embodied way, allowing the body to become part of the intention-setting process rather than keeping it solely in the mind.
A Guided Practice with Mariah
Mariah will be guiding us through a gentle yet energizing yoga session designed to support both release and renewal. Her approach focuses on mindful movement, steady breath, and creating a safe, supportive space where everyone can move at their own pace.
Whether you are experienced in yoga or stepping onto the mat for the first time, this session is meant to be accessible and welcoming. The focus is not on perfect poses, but on presence — noticing how the body feels, where it holds tension, and where it’s ready to soften and open.
Moving with Intention
As we move through the practice, we’ll be encouraged to connect our physical movement with the intentions we’re planting for the new moon. This might look like releasing stress through gentle stretches, building confidence through steady grounding postures, or simply allowing the breath to guide us back into the present moment.
By pairing movement with intention, the practice becomes a quiet ritual — one that helps anchor the energy of new beginnings not just in thought, but in the body itself.
Leaving the Mat, Carrying the Energy Forward
One of the most beautiful aspects of practicing yoga in a retreat setting is the ability to step away from daily responsibilities and fully immerse yourself in the experience. Surrounded by supportive energy, nature, and community, the practice often feels deeper and more restorative.
Participants often leave the mat feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves — carrying that grounded sense of renewal into the rest of the retreat and back into everyday life.
This New Moon in Aries session is just one of the ways we’ll be weaving together movement, energy work, and intention throughout the retreat to create a space for reflection, healing, and aligned new beginnings.
